Some kids need to move more than others.  For some it is torture to sit still and listen to a story or sing songs.  Some kids can sit, but need to move at regular intervals.  When I taught community college classes or workshops to teachers, I made sure to get everyone up ever 20 minutes and introduce a dancing song or stretch and do some exercises.  During the morning we make sure everyone gets time to move, but for some it is not enough.

We notice some kids have a much better morning if they have done something strenuous before school.  Riding a bike to school or walking or running……some parents stop at the park instead of the coffee shop on the way to school.  Even 10 minutes can be helpful.

Try parking three blocks away and running or walking briskly the rest of the way.
